Diary: From Salzburg to the Alps

'You know its funny whats happening to us. Our lives have become digital, our friends now virtual. And everything you could ever wanna know is just a click away.
Experiencing the world through endless second hand information isn't enough. If we want authenticity, we have to initiate it.'

Festival week in Salzburg. That time of the year. A great atmosphere once again. Whatever you think of Pereira, the whole thing worked. Stay put I say. The standard exceptionally high, the money flowing when it needs to; this crowd is happy as it is. Good art thrives in good patronage.
We soak up every drop, it is inspiring. The Tamerlano performance is a stunner, even though my head nips off once the clock hits 12. The young voices! Mehta yes, but especially Julia Lezhneva and Marianne Crebassa. Super people, these babies just go out there and do what they do best. Awesome power of youth, how they get that job done. And they do so with ease as they stand next to none other than Domingo. He, the living legend.
We hang out with most of the crew. Everyone pops round at some stage. The whole thing wouldnt be  possible without all the support. Its like a big sports team. I m truly blessed. So what now? Time to climb more mountains. Via Zurich we are headed into the Alps to walk and climb, like they did. For all thats to come I just knew, I'd have to climb ...
